Greetings to all!

In my bathroom of my 3rd flood condo was a lump against the wall. I cut the old flooring away from it and saw the attached photo.

This is what I know about the building.

Built in BC, Canada.
Built in 1984-ish
The floors are concrete but most likely just a thick skim (I cannot confirm this)

I am thinking this is some sort of concrete slab tensioner or suspension that I should leave well enough alone but what an eyesore.

Any ideas??

Not much there to go on.
I would guess a clamp used to support piping as it penetrates the floor.See 'em all the time in commercial stuff.
To really know you need to see the part that disappears into the wall.

That would make sense. The kitchen sink is just on the other side of that wall.

Thanks for the reply!

Airbornone is correct. It was not properly set so it is a little too high----it can be fixed if it causes you too much concern-----if it can be hidden, perhaps behind a small piece of furniture, your cost will be minimized. You may also be able to grind it down if the height is not too bad and get rid of the lumpiness. I would try that first and then level it out with some grout or thinset mortar.

It sits about 2 inches high.

I think I will be grinding it down with an angle grinder.
Thanks again!
