Hello all,
This is my first post. I have 3 ideas on how to improve my parents home and 1 of them is to add an addiition to the side. This addition would need to have much sunlight, fit the style of the house (red brick + black wood), and I'm thinking the addition should be a green house/ conservatory.
The greenhouse is going to be dirty generally and it will be kept seperate from the consveratory which would be kept prisitine and have some couches, chairs, artwork and very large windows.
I am adding a photo to allow forum users to view the obstacles... there obviously would have to be some landscaping to level out the area... but the main problem are the low windows. Obviously no one wants windows looking directly into another structure a few feet away. I suppose I could dig underground 5+ feet and have stairs leading down to the room and this would enable high ceilings without blocking the view from the windows.
Let me make this clear, there are two sets of windows I am worried about:
1.) THe windows on the bottom right of the house. These windows are from the basement and though they are not looked out of too often, they do provide light. ** THis is the big problem **
2.) The windows on the 1st floor. The current greenhouse (seen on the bottom left of the house) is right below the windows on the 1st floor.
Thanks for any advice!
