Hey there, I live in Georgia and am currently having a home built by KM Homes. While walking through the framed home, i noticed that many of the interior walls are not 16" on center. they look more like 24" on center, I was wondering if this is according to GA code or is my builder just being cheap.
thanks for any who might be able to help.

Just check with the local building inspector to see it is up to code. Do it quickly and before is covered since that can make corrections more difficult to acheive.

If they are interior walls this is not a problem. I no means is this considered quality construction. It is more of your contractor saving a but. It tends not to lead to a high quality product in the end.
If I had a reason to do 24" on centers for interior walls I would at least use 5/8" sheetrock. Make sure to adjust door jambs accordingly.

Ditto on the 5/8" sheetrock when studs are 24". Half inch can show more waves when used over 24" spacing.
