How do I replace the expansion joints in my concrete driveway and sidewalk? The wooden joints have rotted and are mostly gone. Is there some aftermarket method to repair this?[

Dig out all the remaining rotted wood with a screwdriver or similar tool.
Go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy some pieces of 4" x 1/2" expansion joint material.
Slide the expansion joint down into the joints and cut it to fit so that the top is 1/2" below the top of the concrete.
Caulk the top of the joint with sealant.

If you are looking for a good pavement sealant, I know that has some that are excellent for extreme weather and severe expansion joint movements. You should check them out. http://www.dowcorning.com/content/construction/conspave/

Leave it alone, there is no need for it to be covered

I have used the self leveling product with excellent results, Especially good for irregular crack repair and very easy to apply.

Wood is a bad option for control joints. I suggest using expansion and hydolic cement at this point. Not the best choise but you dont have many options.
