What is the best quietest way of connecting a dishwasher drain tube to the sink drain? I have heard some horror stories about obnoxiously loud dishwashers making noise through the sink drain.

The dishwasher I purchased can be connected to the sink trap or the garbage disposal. Which is the best and/or quietest method of isntallation?

I would think the garbage disposal would be.. but it might gurgle up in there too. Mine at home is pretty quiet.. I'll look and see how it's done.

I am no plumbing expert, but i work in newly constructed homes, all of the dish washer drains that i have seen have been hooked to the sink drain pipe, not the disposal.I can't help you with the decibal level of a dishwasher. There is usually not enough room between the sink and the trap to get the disposal and the special dish washer drain hook up crammed in there.

I have always tied into the DWV system as far away from the sink as I can get. The dishwasher has it's own trap so sewer gas is not an issue.

That's the way mine is done also mj.. sort of. Into a seperate drain with it's own trap also.. but seperate from the sink.
