I am sheating a roof that is 32' gable truss to gable truss @24"o.c., but I want to also have 1 foot on each gable end and use a fly rafter (I think that is the correct term). This means that the plywood will actually cover 34'. My question is how to stagger the joints of the plywood with the least amount of waste. It seems that if my end pieces are 7 ft and 3ft depending on the row, I will waste alot of plywood but still have 4 foot staggers. On the other hand it seems like if I use a combination of 3ft, 5ft, and 7ft plywood and only have a stagger of 2'. I will waste less plywood. Please advise on most economical and if 2' stagger of the seams is sufficient.

Thanks

So every 2 rows (both sides) you will waste a sheet of plywood. Maybe 3-4 sheets on the whole roof? Not bad. You'll probably need some elsewhere anyway right?
2' staggers would probably get you by - just not the best case scenario.
