In the center of my basement there are footings for a framed bearing wall. Unfortunately the footings are about 6-8 inches to low (basically due to excavation). If they were at the correct height, the plan was just to lay down a couple 2X4's (equal to the height of the future slab), and then frame the wall on those. So now what are my options? Can I have the concrete crew pour additional footings on top of the current ones? Can I stack more 2X4's to make up the height? Any suggestions appreciated.
Typically with a footing underslab in a basement you would pour the slab over top of the footing or include the slab with the footing when pouring. Then frame your wall right on top of the slab.

Yes, the footings were to be about 4 inches below final slab height, in order to get started on framing, I was going to put treated wood directly on those and then do the slab later. However the current footings are now approximately 8 inches below final slab height.
My suggestion would be to pour the slab before framing. The issues that arise will outweigh the time waiting to start framing. If the water table increases there is always a chance that it will seap between the pours and up between the PT wood and concrete slab. I would rather have a continuous slab under my framing.
