convert LVL to steel requirement?

Is there a table to convert a given LVL combination (e.g. 3 ply 18 inch LVL) into what the corresponding specs would be for steel I beam?

You would have to find the load limits for the LVL for your given span then use that maximum load in an I-beam table to size the beam needed.

Sizing I-beams from the tables can be tricky given the number of different size of I beams.

Is there an approximate load that 3 (18 in) LVL's could hold?

To size that I would need the span and load conditions as well as the material that will be supporting the beam.
