I have come to own some good southern pine structural wood 8' - 2x8's that have been "split cut" into to two "trangular wedges" (they were used to frame a ramp). I have been able to grain match the pieces so they will fit tight when rejoined. I plan to glue and clamp the two triangular lenghts together to form a 2x8 joist, but have never seen this done and wanted to get some opinions on the strenght of the joists "remade" this way.
Thanks
