I have a vacant house that I don't want to leave the outside lights on all the time. I'm going to put in motion-sensing lights.

When I looked at them I wasn't sure how they work. I'm afraid that moving trees will have them on all the time. Will this happen?

How do these work? Do they break quickly? Anything else?

Thanks

They'll work just fine for you, just buy one of a decent quality (you get what you pay for). Most of them (I would think all of them) have a 'sensitivity' adjustment.

What Tom said.....but as far as the issue with moving trees, that won't happen as the motion sensor is actually detecting a moving heat source such as a human, animal, or moving car.

Even the cheapest models have a sensitvity adjustment as well as an adjument for how long the lights stay on after being tripped.

At least go for the medium-priced one for your piece of mind.
