load limits for 2X6 studs

Approximately how much weight are 2X6's able to hold? e.g. 3 together for a beam pocket.

So you're using 3 studs for trimmers which hold a beam of some sorts? Unless you have one huge roof I wouldn't worry about it. You're probably in the range of 10,000 lbs or more. Now it just depends if your header can handle that weight.

BTW - that's for 3 of them. A single stud without blocking won't get you much at all.

The longer the stud length is (free standing) the less it will support.
