Here's a few shots of my 'kitchen project', which has been taking forever, because it's one of those 'nights and weekends' kinda deals. My wife says - - "you finish for everyone else", I say - - "everyone else PAYS me"

One's a shot of some of the Maple cabs I built (gotta make the doors and drawer fronts yet), another of the 'bordered' tile floor, and the other is the 'architrave' over the breakfast bar (not trimmed yet). Hey, I'm tryin to get it done by the fall!

I just had to see what an 'architrave' was...lol

Everything is looking really good! I especially like the tile floor. I bet you had a fun time doing that.

Thanks, Doyle, - - sounded 'fancy', so I named it! More pics coming soon!

Here's a few more. I 'bumped' my existing kitchen (extended it four more feet), but to make it sound like a big deal to my wife, I named it the 'South Wing'.

That looks great! Is that granite countertop? Or is it something else?

What type of tile is it?

Thanks, guys. - - haven't had a chance to work on it too much more lately, - - just way too busy, - - though I did install 'false bottoms' on the cabs and the undercab lighting. Oh well, the wife waited 10 years to get a new kitchen, - - if I rush things now she'll get spoiled.

Plunk, - - the countertop is 'imitation granite' formica, and I'm real happy with it, (it even has a slight built-in sparkle to it) - - the countertops are the only part of the kitchen I didn't do myself (I measured and installed but had them made). The beveled edges give it a much richer look. The floor is stone tile, and the backsplashes are 'tumbled marble' travertine tile. As you can see, there's a lot of custom cutting involved once you get into diagonals, and borders, and features, etc.

Wondering how much 'garden hose' it would take to reach Texas.

It would never work. You'd have to go across Arkansas and we call those things 'gasoline credit cards' around here.
