Hurricane ties

Does anyone have an opinion on whether hurricane ties (the Simpson H1 style) should be nailed to the inside of the supporting wall or the outside? I have seen them installed both ways and wondered (since I am at this stage of my garage construction) if one method offered advantages over the other.

I've always done them to the inside. Not because it's the right or wrong way - just that it's much easier to place a ladder on a floor than the dirt outside.

Thanks for the compliment, Tom. We are pretty happy with the job so far though it is a good thing we are not in a hurry! :)
