Hello,
I discovered this forum for home improvement by Googling for repair advice. I recently bought a house 200 yds from the ocean in Daytona Beach. Great location! Being 47 years old and a rental, it needs lots of repairs. I've had vinyl soffits installed, electrical work, plumbing which included replacing a corroded water supply pipe. i'm having to tent the house for dry-wood termites. After seeing what happened after 8" of rain, I had a the driveway concrete cut from one side to the other, and a drain installed. Water was pouring into the double-car garage. Down the road, I want to replace aluminum windows, and stucco over the block. In Florida, windows have to be either made with tempered glass, or a shutter system installed, in the case of a hurricane. Does anyone have experience with the cost of Bahama or Colonial shutters? I will be reading the forum for tips and advice. I am also passing along the website to my property-owning friends.
