Beginner woodworker...need to make a 2-in diameter half-sphere depression in wood. Heard I could use a dremel tool....any suggestions on correct attachment? Thank you! - Drea

You don't want to cut - just depress it. Like a carving? Or would it be straight walled at a constant depth?

Hi Rich- it would be a shallow, bowl-shaped depression to inlay some river rocks. Dimensions ~2-in diameter x 0.5-in depth. I don't have access to drill bit and was told I could use dremel to accomplish this. Thx for quick reply!

Most of the dremel sanding discs will accomplish that. I would suggest something like this -
