Help PLEASE! My husband and I saved for years to build a home of our own. Everything was/is carefully designed and thought out. The budget has little room for error! Our concrete slab is a nightmare. The concrete is powdery and crumbling. It is developing cracks and HOLES under the posts on the edges. The concrete company wants to pour a new salb on top of it. It is testing out at substandard at below 2000 psi, but we paid for, 3000psi.
What to do next? Should we get a lawyer?
Thanks
Fred and Eve

Well the liability, without knowing any of the other circumstances, falls on the concrete company for providing out of spec concrete. From there I would say it's up to you on what you want them to do. If they pour a slab on top does the higher elevation encroach on anything? Can you live with something done wrong and have it patched?
Overall the slab on top will not adversely effect anything for integrity or whatever... like I said - it's completely up to you.
Talk with the company and tell them what you want - a place to start anyway.

Thank you for your answer! My husband doesn't want to use the same concrete company as we have just become aware that they have done this before. Sounds like fraud or incopetence. We are very happy to hear that they are liable. I hope this doesn't cause us too many months or years of waiting for our house to be completed!
