I have a shed that I make biodiesel in and I want to put in a utility sink which will drain out into a ditch ( I live in the country) and I was wonderiing if there is anything on the market that is freeze proof drain pipe.

Also I would like to run a water line to the sink from a hose bib and was wondering if there is a hose line or pipe that would also be freeze proof.

If not, do those insulation covers keep things from freezing?

Thanks!
Aaron

I don't know of any freeze-proof drain pipe, but I don't think it would be necessary, as long as it's got a decent pitch, running water won't freeze, just don't use a 'trap'. They make an 8" and a 12" 'frost-free' sillcock, the reason it doesn't freeze is the valve is 'set back' so it's actually on the inside of the house, where the handle is on the outside. The only way I know of to make the supply line 'freeze proof' is bury it below your frost line.

...or heat trace it. But most heat trace I've used is marginal at best.
