View Full Version : UDA Construction Software
Has anybody used it, I have uda 2004 professional and love it. :D
I had version 2000 or maybe 99 - can't remember. It's been quite awhile since I've used it. The estimating spreadsheet they had was terrible though - not sure how it is now.
You should really check it out they have 5-10 different software packages for different aspects of construction.
I'm actually in the process of creating an excel spreadsheet takeoff and estimating program. So far it's looking pretty good - having to teach myself vba programming though so it's taking me awhile.
This program will not be a plug and play type software - where the database is all setup for you. You'll actually have to know what a production rate is and what burdens are :)
When you get it done with it, u can sign me up first to test it!!!
Right on..
the way it's currently setup is for general contrator estimates. A seperate spreadsheet contains all the material divisions - where you can customize your costs per unit. On the main estimate page these get imported to a dialog box where you click the item and hit the ok button.. it inserts all the production rates and then you only have to enter the quantity. Click create estimate it pumps it into your customized estimate sheet.. print it and you're done (makes it sound easy doesn't it :) )
It gives each estimate a unique id and saves it to the estimates folder and also inputs basic information into a log.
I've got a long ways to go yet - but I'm slowly getting there.
Wow, Rich you are on the right track. Keep me updated on it.

Cole, I saw the UDA software and thought it looked good. So you do like it and what are you using it for? Do you use seperate software for any other aspect of running your business or does the uda software meet all your needs.
Jeremy
I am not currently using UDA anymore, I am using Timberline.
When I was using it, I used it for every aspect of my business.

So, which is the better software?
UDA for smaller, start-up companies.
Timberline for established, bigger companies.
