osb vs ply

What are your guys thoughts? We pretty much hate OSB. We've found it to have problems with expansion and it is softer underfoot than ply(CDX). But I have talked with many builders that pretty much only use OSB.

Any thoughts?

We used to only use plywood but have since switched to osb. There are occasions that we use plywood just not that often. Many of the architects / engineers will specify osb now for whatever reason. The problem I have is they specify 1/2" osb/ply which in my opinion is not enough. We always try and have it changed to 5/8". 1/2" just seems spongy to me and the clips don't seem to help all that much.
