HI,

I have a transition that needs to occur from a Hardwood floor to a Ceramic tile floor. The hadwood 3/4" hardwood sits on 3/4" plywood which is nailed to the cement floor. The Ceramic tile floor sits directly on the Cement. So I have about 1" difference in height. Most of the hardwood transitions I have found are 3/4". I have heard of getting transition pieces custom molded or using Marble Transitions.

Any thoughts on either or other recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Rick

Get someone to rip a piece of trim to an 1", thats what we did and it looks good.

Yes Marble Transitions. I went to a custom flooring place to see if they would have other sizes of transitions and they showed me Marble ones, various sizes, 1/2", 3/4", 1". Very nice but would not look good with my current situation. They came in widths of 3, 4, 5, 6 inches.

The hardwood is Cherry color and Marble tile is Beige with traces of light brown

Usually for this application I would make a custom transition out of matching hardwood. If this isn't do-able how about using the 3/4" transition that's available with a matching 'spacer strip' underneath?
