In the Construction Resource Directory I didn't see a section for "roofers" I wanted to add myself.

What about a search function for the site? There are some good free ones out there. I have taked dgs search and altered the heck outta it.

Roofing would be under CSI Division 07 Thermal and Moisture Protection.

I thought about adding a search - but there isn't enough information yet to make it worthwhile. Once I get some more articles up I may add one.

Thermal and moisture protection really? Hmmm... Yeah in the most strict sense I suppose we are thermal and moisture prevention technicians, however is a consumer ever really going to think about that?

That is mostly just due to the CSI breakdown. Waterproofing and roofing etc are in that division. There is a new breakdown that is supposed to be incorporated - maybe it already is. The problem is that there are like 50 or 60 divisions in the new one instead of 16 in the old.

CSI is really just usefull to spammers. Consumers looking for roofers don't say I need the CSI whatever. Just my opinion, if your goal is for consumers to find contractors.

I guess I don't understand why the CSI breakdown is only good for spammers? What does spam have to do with the age old method of breaking down construction activities and scopes of work?

Let's say Joe the consumer comes to this site looking for a brick layer. When Joe gets to the site he sees: Masons, most people know a brick layers are masons.

Now lets say Jane comes to this site looking for A roofer. Jane sees: Maybe specialties, maybe contractors, maybe moisture.

Now a spammer knows what CSI he/she/it is targeting and would know right were to go. If you go to buy a list from any data broker, and it's all CSI based. See my point? Hell, I didn't even know where to list msyelf LOL. Not a big deal I am just trying to give you another perspective.

I guess that's what the search is for :D
I approve all the submissions so I can make sure all the keywords are correct and relevant. Honestly, I do understand what you are saying - the difference between a consumer finding something versus a contractor submitting to the correct category.
Also.. I think anyone who submits to the directory is a spammer anyway. I guess that's the whole basis of it - but some of them actually link back to me. :D

Oh.. forgot. Want to see spammers?
Look at the last couple of new users. the aaa brothers. They all had links to some crap (porn etc) I deleted their websites from their profile. Maybe I should start spamming them with a bunch of emails.

spammers go to great length for the .0005 cents per click. I remember when spamming was the thing to do. Ahh the internet. I love it. I used to make good money with banners and spamming links late at night when I couldnt sleep in chat rooms.
