Hello,
I am not sure this is the right place to ask but......
We are doing a large addition/remodel. My husband wants to use the Andersen Sun glass but I think it is too dark. I prefer the Low E glass.
Any experience with either or advice. ? We do have loads of big windows and 6 skylights.

I like both so I couldnt give you that much info on either. I think it is just a matter of taste on how dark or light u want it.

You should be able to select the shading coefficient that you like.. higher the shading coefficient the darker the glass.

I would suggest that the question of why your husband prefers the darker glass might be important? Does he like it for asthetic reasons? Or is it because of the improved energy efficiency?

If the reason is asthetic, he simply likes the darker look, then it would be difficult to reply.
But, if the reason is increased efficiency, then using the available LoE^2 glass is more than sufficient for your environment. The real advantage of the darker glass is blocking visible light, or glare, from the sun. The darker tint will also block more of the infrared (heat) light as well, but in Maryland you really don't need that level of efficiency.

I know this was an older post, but hopefully it has a bit of value.

Have a good one.
