I'm wondering if anyone has done any market research or knows where some market data can be found...

How old is the average purchaser of major home improvements?
What reason do the purchasers choose their contractor?
Do many purchasers frown upon import cars?

This type of stuff.. You can hire market research firms but I was hoping to find some generic data and not have to make that kind of expense.

The information is pretty varied across these sites but I think some of what you are looking for is there.
