Custom Home - Per Square Foot Costs

Hello Everybody!

I was wondering if anyone in the Northern New Jersey area can post the per Sq Ft amount they were charged/quoted for building a new home and additions and the company names? Maybe this forum should have something like a thread where people can post that kind of information for all of us simple folk? :wink:

The problem with that is the widely varying degrees of materials and finishes. Same town I can have the exact same size house - one that cost 200k and the other costs 1 million. This could be the most asked question of me through email and contact form. "What does it cost?" Have no idea unless I have a full set of plans and specifications.
Not to diminish the importance of the question - it's just very difficult to give you any accurate information. Nationwide the average is around $100 / sf - that's all I know without full construction docs.

yeah I had read most of the other posts in this section and I fully understand and was directing it to people hopefully in my area so that they could post the different quotes they got when they were building/remodeling their house. So it would be based on the same house i.e. their house. Thank you for the quick reply. :D
