Im looking for places to hide excess dirt from my crawlspace foundation excavation. I'm thinking I can kill two birds with one stone by filling the voids, up to the second to last course with dirt/gravel from my excavation then topping it off with concrete for the sill bolts. I'm thinking this will increase the mass of my house foundation, and improve insulative qualities.
The details: 8x16" poured footer supporting 6 courses of 8x8x16" block.

Any thoughts?

When building schools we used to fill the cells of the band and practice roomscmu walls with sand to soundproof them...so it sould be fine; provided tou don't fill tghe vertically reinforced cells which should be filled with grout
