I need to replace a wooden perimeter fence around my small backyard, which is in poor conditioin. I am looking for a more durable solution. The current fence is 7' high, and I need to replace about 100 linear feet.

Any recommendations? I was thinking perhaps cinder block, which seems pretty simple to construct.....

I was also wondering if I can stucco over cinder block at some point in the future to match my existing house?

Thanks

A CMU fence would be fairly easy to install. The only labor intensive portion is the footing and filling the cells with grout.

Another fancier option is to use cmu as the posts (with a pad footing) and then wooden fence in between. Put the cmu posts at 6' to 8' on center and in-fill with wood fencing. Top and bottom boards tie directly to cmu by way of a piece of angle iron and the fence boards nail directly into them. Face the cmu posts with faux stone or stucco.

Stucco can be applied very easily to CMU.
