For the benefit of any new or existing 'home improvement' contractors in New Jersey, you are now (deadline Nov. 9th, 2004), required to be 'registered' by the state 'Division of Consumer Affairs', - - office of the 'Attorney General'. Basically fill out a 6-page form, send proof of insurance, copy of registered 'business name' certificate, and a check for $90. Once registration number is assigned, it must go on contracts, business cards, trucks, etc. Hopefully, it's something they'll put some teeth in and enforce, rather than it just be the normal 'Jersey-cash-cow'! P.S. You still need 'local' licensing, also.
