More pix coming soon. Need to start planning how to fasten the 3/4 plywood down to the rafters. For years, I've always 6d nails and a hammer.
Am considering the use of screws and a cordless screwdriver - should make it a lot stronger for the tornadoes that love to harrass the Rome area.
Any suggestions on the screws and where to get them?.....
Thanks...
If you're set on using screws check out http://www.mcfeelys.com/ and buy some square drive deck screws.
My personal opinion would be to use 10d-12d out of a framing nailer :)

ring-shanked, even.

I love to overbuild, but isn't ring-shanked 12d a little much? I thought the screw idea was good....
Don't find many screws being used out on the internet...... how 'bout 8d sinkers and a hammer (and a lot of coffee)?...

I love to overbuild, but isn't ring-shanked 12d a little much? Nope. 10D-12D ring-shanked is standard for roof decking on my jobs. Grab the Senco nailer and go using a 6 nail per rafter pattern.
I guess if you were really concerned about tornados you could also use a construction adhesive like F-26 or Liquid Nail.
Now thats overkill.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do! :D Works for Doyle!
