View Full Version : Canada
I know we have a couple of members from Canada and I am planning on taking a trip, so I was wondering what are the best places to visit. Im up for anything.
Victoria Island, Edmonton Mall, Jasper National Park, Banff, Lake Louise..
Cole, Jasper National Park is amazing!! I highly recommend it. The wild life and outdoor activity are endless. And the Columbia Ice Fields are right there which are very cool! I lived in Nelson, British Columbia for seven years and I would suggest going there as well. It was voted Canada's number one art town and there are great outdoor activities for both winter and summer. When are you planning this trip for?

What time of year do you plan to be here? Snowshoe or sandle weather?

And what do you like to do on vacation? Hunt, fish, golf, sail, sight see, museums, nothing?
Snow and Sandal Weather!!!
I plan on taking more than one trip and I love to play golf, hike and just scenery.

Hiking and scenery - east or west coast
Golf - east coast (Prince Edward Island is the best spot)
Fishing - northern British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Northern Quebec, Labrador (all of these choices require heavy shoes so the flies don't carry you away)

Some northern areas are getting snow now - here is a shot of Goosebay in Labrador as of five minutes ago. Its hard to make out, but look carefully at the road and you will see snow.
Nice!!
Can't wait for snow.. hardly get any here in Denver area though unless you want to fight the traffic and go to the mountains.

Last year we had a single day snow fall of 99 CM (39" give or take) and I hope we don't get a repeat of it.
We had one like that last March too - 37".
In MT there was a ski resort shutdown due to too much snow (had reports of over 10' total by the time the storm was done)
We got 4" last year
I love snow. i wish we got more.

I remember that.
We got 4" about 4 times.
Dragon, they say we are going to have a colder than normal winter and it is going to be wetter than previous years.

Joy.
I like our average snowfall. 2-4" a few times. It gives you a chance to say "Snow. Cool." then goes away after a couple of days before you become really annoyed with it.
Every 5 to 10 years we will get 20-24" just to remind us that Mother Nature can and will mess with your head.
So Canada Guys I want to find a 4 star golf course. Know any?

I spent ten years in Labrdor City. We only had three seasons - July, August and winter!
I would love that.. cold is good
I went so far as to take my honeymoon in Alaska :)
See and Im from the dead south and I love the cold also. Unfortunately we dont get really cold like you guys. I mean this week we are going to get highs of 87 and I hate it. My favorite temp has to be below 40, im sure it is 30 for some of you guys.
