Help pls

Hello everyone,

I need an estimate for rewiring the first floor and second floor of my 30+ year old house. I only have one electrical panel for the whole house (finished basement, 1st floor, 2nd floor, finished attic). The first 1st has 3 rooms (kitchen, dining room, living room) and the 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms and a bath. Both 1st and 2nd floor have platered walls. I'm assuming to rewire both floors, the walls need to be gutted out. Am I correct on that one?

I guess I need an estimate on:

gutting the walls
putting new electrical wiring
adding another panel box

Where do you live?
Open up the phonebook and find an electrical contractor (design / build firm) and request bids from 3 of them. There's no way for anyone to give you anything more than speculation without having your requirements and material specifications and a site walk through. I don't want to discourage you - someone could probably give you a rule of thumb but not much more than that.

Ferd, additionally, you might think about multiple contractors. An electrical contractor to do the wiring and a general or a carpenter to do the gutting/running wire/repatching of the walls/ceilings.
