I will be requesting bids from local drywall companies to complete my drywall work. Hanging and taping will be required to a level 4 finish. Do drywall professionals usually bid per hour or per square foot, and if per square foot, is the charge based on the square foot of the rock that will be hung and taped?

Most often it'll be a lump sum or if the scope isn't quite defined or they're not sure about something it'll be a square foot price of rock hung and finished.

in regards to wall square footage, is there a correlation between the floor sq footage and wall sq footage... Or a formula to quickly, calculate or guestimate the wall sq footage. Or should I just get out my measuring tape and calculator.

No correlation whatsoever between wall and floor square footage.

I used 3.5 - 4.00 to grossly estimate drywall around here drywallers charge $1.00 sqft of drywall material and labor
