Have a quick question. We had heavy rains last night and I noticed today that my basement walls (cinderblock) are damp on the inside. My ground has settled considerably all the way around the house/foundation , enough to expose the top of the cinderblock-when I go back and grade, this well be fixed. My masons are on the job right now laying brick. The exterior of the house was coated with water (or damp) proof, two layers of heavy black plastic and foam boards all the way around the foundation. Herein lies my problem: my basement walls are very damp! What should I do?! Once the grade is completed and the brick are laid, should this cover the block up enough to prevent this from happening??
