Were not quite at the HVAC part of our project but they will be sheathing next week. Stardard builder's equipment is (2) 3 ton 10 seer York. I am going to upgrade both AC to 12 seer ($550 ech). I can also upgrade the furnace (gas) to two-stage systems as well as varible speed kinds. The two-stage system is more in my price range. Are these two-stage system (york) worthwhile ? Would it be cost wise to upgrade only one system and not the other (one for each floor). I think the 2nd floor one would be good to upgrade because it might be quieter. Also any good rebate from any manufactures out there ? Thanks much.
