Looks good Valent.
I still can't get used to all the CMU foundations you guys put in. I have been in this racket for 20+ years and I have only ever needed to put in one CMU foundation wall in one part of a house foundation. Lots of fire separation walls, but no complete foundations.
Looks good, is that osb i see on the walls? :D

actually almost all new foundations here are concrete slab built on grade. I however, needed to rise above grade because of flooding and chose this as my madness. I mean method. And I really wanted plywood but osb it is.

I must be getting old! This was supposed to be a smart assed comment for the guy who wants extra storage space in his garage and has a 15' height restriction. Not sure how it wound up here!

CMU foundations are foundations built out of Concrete Masonry Units. Also previously known as cinder blocks at least around here. They are the 8 by 8 by 16 (or various other sizes) hollow core blocks.

Dammit. Why don't we just say it was made of concrete block or of poured concrete.
I don't know whether I've mentioned this before but I'm going to.
I haven't seen cinder block used in years, maybe 30 years at least. Cinder blocks were made of cinders. Concrete blocks were made of concrete. I keep seeing that concrete blocks are called cinder blocks when there isn't a piece of cinder in the darn thing.
Cinders are left overs from coal burning. Years ago when lots of coal was burned they had mountains of the stuff left over that they turned into blocks. They were the same configuration of concrete blocks but were a lot lighter in weight and were dark grey or almost black in colour and the surfaces were a little rougher than concrete. They were never used for basement walls but were generally used as back up walls for solid brick houses. I guess with fewer coal fired factories and then about that time brick veneer homes became popular cinder blocks just faded away.
Ah......... I feel much better now.
