Hi-
I'm new to this forum, and I hope you won't mind giving me some advice. I have a manufactured home (15 years old) in Massachusetts. The roof on the house is a standard shingled roof. However, attached to my house is a 12' x 24' "Florida room". The roof was manufactured by Silver-Top in Maryland (www.silver-top.com) and is "bridge braced" corrugated steel. The walls of the room are metal with an insulation core. The vertical supports are (about 2" square metal)5' apart and between them are sliding thermopane windows. This is really a nice room (electric heat, woodstove, ac), but I have a terrible time with condensation and the suspended ceiling is a mess now. Also, whoever installed the room, didn't really seal the roof correctly. There is a leak where the roof meets the fascia board. I would like to totally remove this metal roof and replace it with a woodframe, shingle roof - shed-style. I can email you a drawing which I hope is clear, if you like. So, my question is: will the metal posts be sufficient to support the new roof????
Thanks for any help!
Frank
