I see two differnet type of "adapters" to go from CPVC to metal ips. (I want to go from cpvc to the adapter to a metal 1/4 turn suppy valve to the faucet.)

Both glue the CPVC pipe to the adapter.

#1 has the male threads molded into the fitting itself so it is one piece.

#2 is two piece and termed a transition union. The metal part with the male threads connect to the plastic part with an o-ring and a fitting similar to what you would find on a garden hose. The text says it compensates for the different expansion rates of these 2 dissimlar materials.

#1 seems simpler and more soldid as there is no o-ring or "moving parts".

Thanks!
