This may be a marginal subject for a landscaping forum, but I'll give it a shot:

I built a rock bulkhead at my salt water beach; it's about 25' high, with 10 feet of batter (backward lean), so it's about a 65 degree slope.

I need to get a boat dolly with a jetski loaded on it --combined weight of about 1000 pounds--from the beach to the top of the bank, where there is a small storage shed. I could use the boom and winch with which I built the rock wall, but that seems insecure and dangerous to both the load and its owner (me). What I am looking for is some sort of ramp or elevator system (I have in mind those chairs that transport disabled people up stairways) that will lift the load without having it change position, or having it swinging free.

I'd appreciate any suggestions; I found contractors who will build a boat shed, and who will build a water-level dock; but found no one who can connect the two!

This would be really fun to design and build.

Step some of the course back and build a steep ramp, buy a crawler loader and away you go. :)
Actually if you weld a swing arm and attach a tow truck hoist to winch it up that may work. Get a good welder to do this for you, and make your concrete base larger than you think you need. NO- BIGGER, DEEPER, WIDER! The base will act as a counter weight for the load.

In the interval between the inquiry and the replies, I found a firm in Florida that makes the lift that I need, so I'm going to try that. If it should all fall into the bay, I'll get back on line.

Thanks for the interest and the responses.
