i tried to get some spokeshaves, they had none at my suplier, they said record have been out of stock in some things since march this year, i hear they have been taken over by an american company, is this true?

I would rather have a KUNZ spokeshave anyway :)
Anyway - didn't know that Record had been purchased by anyone.

Okay. I know what a spokeshave is but what would you be using it for. Obviously not for making spokes. Furniture?

100 different uses for spokeshaves - even more probably if you consider the different types. Debarking, chair seats, log furniture, brute force carving, etc.

Hey Cole. They are called spoke shaves because that is what they used to make the wooden spokes of the carriage wheels. Those ones in the picture look real fancy schmansi.
