I was reading a book that said they put a waterproof tape on the outside of the window flanges after the window has been installed.

Does anyone know what kind of tape this is and who makes it.
I can't seem to find any of our local lumber yards that have anything like that.

Thanks for your help

It's about the same thing as ice and water shield. Typically the window manufacturer provides it with the windows. Pella has 4" wide foil faced tape that they use.

I just got 5 rolls of the 4" stuff at Home Depot. 5.99 a roll, 50' long. I didn't notice if it had any foil in it though.

I got my entire shipment of Milgard windows today, will start installing them tomorrow. Yeah!
