Just found out they are using cpvc for plumbing in my new home and copper is a 2500 upgrade. I know this is probably like asking is osb or plywood better but what the heck, any pros and cons for cpvc?

It'll work - and I suppose in some areas it's considered the norm. I've also seen PEX piping being used quite a bit. As far as pros and cons - again - it'll work.

I gather by your response that you would prefer copper... thanks for the response.

Yes - I would prefer copper. But that's just personal because I've worked with copper before.

Worked with both (repairs and changes).

Seen both installed in a lot of new houses.

I don't think there's any significant difference between them.
