Here's my upstairs bathroom 'economy' tile job (done 11 years ago), but demonstrates how a tile job can look expensive with just standard (stock) tiles, but by going two-tone. A little money, - - with a little imagination, - -can go a long way. Not the best pictures, but you get the idea.

Here's a pic (taken in the mirror). The curved soffit with the single high-hat 'architecturally' matches the toilet below it. It's a 4" deep H. D. medicine cabinet that I 'modified' to 8" deep, then added some 'ginger-bread' above and below it. The 6' long soffit above the double-sink vanity has an angled niche I framed into it between the high-hats (just to break up any monotony). The 6' long X 4' high mirror makes the small room appear larger.
Nice work Tom.. gotta love a bathroom that calls attention to the crapper - I do my best thinking there :)

Impressive.
About a month ago I did some tile work for my nephew and he bought some accent tiles to be placed at various locations around the wall. When I started to place the tiles I found that these accent tiles were a hair bigger than the other tiles. Boy did that cause some problems especially when my nephew is an engineer who goes over everything with a pair of vernier calipers and a magnifying glass. That little difference at differnt locations caused a wandering of tile lines.
Just be carefull when picking different tiles they are the same size. EXACTLY.
