I've been considering other alternatives to the perimeter drained called for in my plans.

Mirafi claims that this product can be used instead of the gravel-filled trench. Am misunderstaing the use of this product or do they mean that it can be attached to the foundation walls and backfill place adjacent to the product. The water goes through the fabric, hits the dimples and falls to the bottom. But where does the water go from there?

The picture in this URL does not show any PVC pipes to drive the water away.

Has anyone used it this way? Any support for their claim?

Thanks.

If you turn the drainboard out at the bottom of the wall it will catch water - but will not carry the water away. I would only use it in this manner maybe in Arizona where you don't get much rain.
As far as the product itself - it's great. We're using it along with Procor on the project we're doing right now. But we have a perimeter drain in also... and a high perimeter drain for catching gutter run off.
