Hello all,

I need to use a kickout flashing where my roof meets a vertical wall. I cannot find a pre-fabricated piece to do this. Is this flashing typically made from common step flashing? If so, how is it done so that the kickout does not leak? I can't see how to form the kickout without cutting the step flashing, and you can't solder galvanized steel flashing (?). Should I use a piece of tin flashing so that it may be soldered?

Please enlighten me as to how this is usually done - thanks in advance.

Doug

The kickout made with the step flashing will never work because water will always get in because of the cut. I have been modifying outside gutter pieces made of PVC to use in my business. I've never had a single call-back so I'm certain that they work great.

I box-fold an extended lenght step-flashing. And a tad of gutter sealer in the bend to prevent water intrusion.

You could try an aluminum kickout flashing they sell online.
