I have asked alot of questions and got all great answers, I guess that;s what keeps me commin back, like cupboard love.
anyways.....
the cottage that I am planing on building will have about a 32' front wall a 45' back wall, because there will be 2 - 45 degree angles wings facing forward about 12' each
The ridge will be approx.38 1/2' (on the main body), using 3-16' 2x8 and splicing them. I remember doing this years ago, and if memory serves me, we nailed 1/2 ply along the splice on both sides.
my question is, could I just rip a 2x4 into 2x2 and nail those on the bottom of the splice extending over each of the side of splice by 2' or so. this way I wouldn't have to adjust the rafter lengths?
Thanks
