Using T&G pine to finish the interior walls of the cabin (where there are no logs) we are starting on Tuesday.
Won't be finishing the interior until later in the year, but for my wall set back from the stair opening, I need to know the actual size of the T&G pine.
I'm thinking it is usually 1x6, or 8 and if so, would the thickness be 3/4"?
Anyone know if 1/2"x6 ,8, or 10 is available, and if so, would the $ savings add up using it insted of 1x?

Most often it will be 3/4". I would imagine if you can find 1/2" it'll be more expensive - weird I know.

That is strange.
What else is strange is the price for 14' verses 16' 2x10.
Mid Nov. I got a quote of about $2 cheaper on the 16 footers.
I placed an order yesterday and the 16's were still cheaper, but only by about 70 cents.

I think I'll spend a little more time Googling the 1x today.

No, it isn't strange at all.

1X is a standard run. while narrower sizes require a special setup on the saw. There isn't enough demand for it so downtime for setup is factored into the price.
