Ok here is my story, i am about a year off of getting my degree and then i have to do three-year internship period. I am trying to find a loophole, a couple questions. Since I have 3 licensed Architects on my staff could I internship under them and get credit?( even though I own the co. ) Or should I just stay a designer and be done with school?

TIA :D

I would think you would be able to work under your in-office architect. Then again the licensing committees for architects are a flaky bunch. :)
It won't hurt to try.

Whether you become a licensed architect or remain unlicensed as a designer is a personal call. You probably already know that you don't need a license to build homes, as long as a licensed architect or engineer stamps your drawings (in California at least). I believe you should be fine doing your internship with one of the licensed architects in your office, as long as you follow the internship guideslines set up by the A.I.A. Their website has those guidelines (aia.org). The A.I.A. calls their intership program the "IDP" (Intern Development Program[/color]). There is an entire package of information available, and which the licensed architect in your office who is mentoring you has to sign off on. You may want to start off by calling the A.I.A. office to see what qualifications are necessary before even starting. I know they're sticklers for making sure you have the correct education (i.e. a degree in Architecture from an accredited school) before starting the IDP. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding this topic. Good Luck.
