Best way to hang Drywall. I remove all the Plaster in lath boards of the celling in walls. This an old house. How will I put the drywall back on so it can be even? Do I shim it using lath. Some spots on the celling are not even with each other. I will install recessing light fixture. Look to installing
over 41 sheet of dry wall that 2 rooms I have work cut out for me.
You have removed the lath boards too? If not, do that first.. then I would say the best way is to stringline the full length of the wall every couple feet or so and then shim with either lath or cardboard shims to bring everything flush.
Hope that helps.

I removed the lath boards.
Great - now just stringline it and shim to the string with whatever is available. If it's over 1/4" or so use lath - if under that use cardboard shims.

Im almost done have most of the celling. up in walls to. I may have to get some one to put the mud up for me. becaus look like work.
Oh boy.. I don't mind hanging drywall all day long and mudding isn't even all that bad. But I'm not a perfect taper so I typically have to sand more than a professional.. and that's the worst part of it.
On the bathroom remodel I mentioned in another post I hung all the drywall and did the framing but subcontracted the tape and texture to a friend of mine.
