Cost estimating

Hi,
I was wondering which costs more to build a) 2000 sqft ranch (2000 sqft basement to be excavated) b) 2000 sqft two story colonial with a 1300 sqft basement to be excavated.
another question..how much would it costs to connect water, electricity,gas and sewer ( they are available 100 feet from the lot)..i know I should call the utility companies to get the prices, im just hopping someone already knows the prices ( roughly).i live in SE Michigan.

I would say with those numbers the ranch would end up costing a bit more.
Not sure on utility hookups - it depends on what you need and what your local charges are. Could be anywhere from 1000 to 30000 or more.
