I am using EMT to run from my meter up to the Rain cap on the meter pole. I am using compression fittings. Do I need to seal the joint at the meter box and the one coupling other than what the compression fittings add?

One more question. Can I run (3) 2/0 copper wires in 1-1/2" EMT ?

I'm not aware of any type of seal in the area you are talking about but you do need a seal ( Dux Seal) is placed around the conductors in the LAST opening before the conduit leaves the warm area. Whic means: wherever your conduit comes into your house ( usuually from your meter base to your panel) you must plug the inside to stop warm inside air from your house migrating up into your conduit and condensing. Sometimes it is right in the back of your panel.
I don't know the other question other than a mast must be at least 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

3 conductors should be the max. allowed in 1.5" conduit but it does depend a bit on what type conductors you're using. For the most common wires, 1.5" is allowed. Are you using the new style compression fittings for emt because the older style do leak? I would still wrap the fitting going into the meter channel with duct seal putty regardless and I would use sealing locknuts.

Thanks for the information. I found the table in the NEC book and it does allow for 3 conductors of this type of 2/0 to be used in 1-1/2" EMT.
