electrical estimates

Ive seen some post talking about rough estimates or estimates procedures for specific jobs like excavation per hour or cu. yd. and plumbing at $700 per fixture. I was wondering about electric. is there a charge per wire run, receptical?

I believe some guys charge by the box.Whether it is a switch, receptacle or light.

In new construction, the electricians in my area base their estimate on the heated square foot. The going rate here is around 1.70 per foot. This includes all materials except fixtures.
